I've just recently started to get back into D2. I had a nicely tweaked setup considering my computer likes to run Diablo 2
slow for some reason.

I found that when I used D3D video software it ran slow in comparison to me running 3dfx Glide.

What I'm getting is that I was able to change Direct 3D rendering to 3DFX Glide, but I cant remember how I did that :-/

Tried searching but really found nothing on the topic. Hopefully someone can help me out

Thanks

P.S. I do remember downloading some .dll files but thats about it....

When your in a game, press escape, then go to options, video options.

You may find what you're looking for in there.I'm not completley sure though.

u can change your gfx settings by running the GFX test again (should be in Start>Programs>Diablo II menu)

See the problem is that I'm using a Radeon 8500. So far my google results have turned up some more info.

Apparently I can emulate Glide on D3D so that Diablo detects it in the Vid Test.

I think this is what I was doing but so far I have been unable to find a compatable emulator.

I'll keep at it..

Ok found the site. I think this was the one I was using before.

http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/

Just download and install the file. Run the Vid Test. You sould then see the 3dfx Glide option

Use it, and good framerates for all (well me anyways)
