Diablo II change a charaters name

Hi, Does anyone know how to change a character's name in Diablo II? :lovedup

You can't to my knowledge. Unless you use a trainer on open or single player, you can't change your name. >_<

Thanks for the advice, what do you mean by use a trainer on open? I normally do play single player games but I want to try online gaming and change my Character's name to something more anon before venturing into the various realms.

get zonfire, open the char, use the "change name" section in the stats tab... save as the new name

basically duplicating your character

Just use a name that you believe would be cool, and don't worry about the single player/open shit. Realm play, I believe, is a little easier then single player due to the amount of people(sometimes) that help the unfortunate souls that just start up.
