There will be no l.a.n. (local area network, TCP/IP) gameplay, sorry.

Oh i see! :S u cant find many games today, with the lan feature. Most games requires internet to play with others. Its just a new way of making business, they get more money that way. First making the game cheap, then p2p. That way they will get 10-100times more for every single game they sell. Just look at wow. Every single game theyve sold wouldve given them like 200$ by now, or even more.

I haven't played the game but i've seen some trailers kinda cool with the monk...
are the old characters still present in the game? like the barbarians, paladins.. etc.

D3 is going to be free online play just like D1 and D2, Bashiok already explained that months and months ago.
