Defining Terrorism

In my philosophy class we were given an assignment to define this word. We didn't get very far partially because I disagreed with a lot of what other people in my group had to say. This is not me asking for you to do my homework, the assignment has passed, I just want to know what you people think about this. After all wouldn't it be ridiculous to go to war with a group of people that we can't satisfactorily define?

question: is not asking the UN for an ok on war unlawful??? hmmmmmm....

You can't actually define terrorism so I'll put it lkike this:

What the Palestinians are doing to Israel is terrorism in the eyes of Israelites.

What the Israelites are doing to the Palestine is terrorism in the eyes of Palestinians.

Funnny how a group of youngins gets the point faster than a room of business majors(there are lots of em in that class for some reason). Though not that suprising.

That's true, it has to be general in order to work, but because it's so general it can be applied to anyone. I bet if my sister could talk, she would call me a terrorist....

Terrorism is when you oppress someone, or suppress they're freedoms with the threat and use of violence.

In our post-9/11 world, terrorism has been dregraded into nothing but an obscure political buzzword.

And Plumb, either post something that contributes to the discussion, or nothing at all. This isn't CC.
