I'm just looking for the general opinion on Protection based warriors, I know they suck in PvP, but I'm looking for a few opinions on the subject. And not, "Shamanz r teh r0xx0r!!11", or "u shuld maek a furry/armz warior insted!".

Protection warriors are dead secksi. this gnome warrior named Daemon on Skullcrusher tanked Ragnaros for the whole battle w/o dying.

Def is your meat you do good dmg but not the best warrior dmg

you get some nice tricks and shit buuuuut its really how you play

got def warrior if you like to be the dude that holds the uber-mega-hyper-own-your-face-boss and just stand there like "wtf hit me you whore"

It's not that I want to have a testosterone battle with any boss. Just that I want to be -safe.- I have this thing about dying, an allergy maybe.

This is somewhat what a defensive warrior look like.

Arms Talents (10 points)

# Deflection - 5/5 points
Increases your Parry chance by 5%.

# Tactical Mastery - 5/5 points
You retain up to 25 of your rage points when you change stances.



Fury Talents (5 points)

# Cruelty - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to get a critical strike with melee weapons by 5%.



Protection Talents (36 points)

# Shield Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5%.

# Improved Bloodrage - 2/2 points
Reduces the duration required to generate rage from your Bloodrage ability by 4 seconds.

# Toughness - 5/5 points
Increases your armor value from items by 10%.

# Iron Will - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to resist stun and charm effects by 15%.

# Defiance - 5/5 points
Increases the threat generated by your attacks by 15% while in Defensive Stance.

# Improved Revenge - 3/3 points
Gives your Revenge ability a 40% chance to stun the target for 3 seconds.

# Improved Shield Block - 1/3 point
Allows your Shield Block ability to block an additional attack, and increases the duration by 0.5 seconds.

# Last Stand - 1/1 point
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum hit points for 20 seconds. After the effect expires, the hit points are lost.

# Concussion Blow - 1/1 point
A brutal strike that deals weapon damage and stuns the opponent for 5 seconds.

# Improved Shield Bash - 2/2 points
Gives your Shield Bash ability a 100% chance to silence the target for 3 seconds.

# One-Handed Weapon Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases the damage you deal with one-handed melee weapons by 5%.

# Shield Discipline - 1/1 point
While active, increases the amount of damage absorbed by your shield by 50% and increases the damage done by your Shield Bash ability by 200%. Lasts 20 seconds.

That looks almost exactly like mine, with tactical master instead of anticipation, and Improved Bloodrage/Last Stand instead of Improved Sunder Armour, as well as just one point in improved shield block and five points in Defiance. I think I'll stick to my build for now.
