You guys do realize that selling gold on WoW is illegal, right? As is selling powerleveling services.

In accordance to these new rules you are enforcing (not the Google Ads, as you can't really do much with that) I feel you should remove the Team VIP and other Gold Buying banners from this site.

I mean, unless you want to not enforce the rules you just put up.

I never really thought about that. Blizzard never did come here and tell us to take it down. It's been there for a while, and it has been illegal the whole time. There goes one of our sponsors if that actually gets taken down. =\

I can't wait to see how this develops. Awesome.

Now, as a note, I didn't make this thread to be a dick. I made it with the 100% intent to get a straight and solid answer from the admins, instead of PMing all 3 of them seperatly. I figured a thread would be my best luck to et a round responce from the collective team, to see if they just maybe slipped up and havn't really noticed it.

So please, lets keep the trolling and flaming out of this thread. Thanks.

[glow=black]Buying gold isn't illegal, it's against Blizzard's policies, not the government's.

Gotta give you credit there though, took me a few minutes to think.[/glow]

nobody told us to remove the warez.
[glow=black]
Maybe didn't tell you, but it's not like you're on the staff team or anything.[/glow]

Well, from what I understand from Joe, Blizzard has contacted BF several times about D2Loader and other such applications/programs.

Knowing that Blizzard is cracking down on ingame-gold buying (banning the buyer and the buyee accounts), and banning accounts with multiple IP's logged (from wide margins, like say America to China back to America within two days), wouldn't one think that logically they would come after the forums that openely support this next?

I'm just looking out for you guys, there are plenty of affiliates/partners out there that you could use that arn't using things that are against our biggest companies ToS ya know.

Legally Blizzard can't file a lawsuit against us. Team VIP they can sue, but it still probably wouldn't do much other then getting VIP shut down.

If you're comparing a lawsuit and arrest, I'd really hope you knew which was better...[/glow]

Legally, they can. This site is in open support of something that is against their ToS, and as such can be dealt with in the same way Team VIP would be dealt with.

Granted, it's nothing more than a closing of the site, but still.

I've never heard of Blizzard contacting us, but I very much so could be wrong.

If you're looking out for us so much now, the new Illegal Content policy has no relevance on what actions Blizzard does or does not take against us. I do appreciate the consideration, however.[/glow]

an arrest can mean one day in jail.
a lawsuit can mean years of debt.

While the new Illegal Content policy has no relevance to what Blizzard has taken against us, it is still conveying the message that while you're against the described Illegal Content, you play a deft ear to it if it's in support of the forums.

[glow=black]Government, no. Host, maybe. ;)[/glow]

We never agreed to their ToS, because they provide no service to us.

Edit: Gimmi, a lawsuit could mean 5$ dollars and an arrest could mean 5 years of prison. Tyvm.[/glow]

While Battleforums.com and it's host may not of ever agreed to Blizzards ToS, that doesn't render it invalid in this case, just to let you know. If someone were to report this site to Blizzard.com, or Vivendi Universal, the site would be, assumidily, very quickly contacted and told to shut down.

Like I said, what we're doing has very little, if any legal relevance.[/glow]
