its my new project. i'm wanting to get it completed by 01-01-04. i've got alot of work to do. i might need some trigger help, not sure how to do a few things i want to happen. i will also need a map protector, the best. i will need it to unprotect just in case i come accross some bugs after i have protected it. there will be 6 heros, so i need testers, i am one, i have a friend that will help, so i need 4 more, but only once i get everything finished. so dont ask to help test until i post again stating its done and needs to be tested.

whats been done so far:
map size: 256x256
map terrain: badlands
units edited
beacons placed to pick hero
spell caster beacons placed
hero and spell caster locations placed

thats about it, ill post info as i get things done, ive just started so only have maybe 1% done. if you are very good at triggers and are willing to help, please post saying so, so i can contact you when i need help with the triggers, thx

Maybe instead of needing an unprotector to unprotect your own map, you can just make a copy of that map under a different name.
EX:
Dark Realm RPG (Protected)
Dark Realm RPG UP (Unprotected)

Maybe when it's closer to the release date, I'll be a tester.

that makes more since. just in case i turn into a moron one day and delete the unprotected map would the protector i used unprotect the other map?

news:
first and second towns complete
path from first town to second town complete
spawn points along path complete
terran, protoss, and zerg upgrade buildings and locations placed
enemy units HP and DMG edited
hero units HP and DMG edited
upgrades time and cost edited
no storyline yet
no triggers done, i will wait until the rest of the map is done

The protector would not, you need special evil programs to unprotect your map. Even if you do all the Comments will be removed and things are renamed back to the default like Switches and Locations

ok then. im taking alot of time to get all locations named to what i want and i dont want that to happen, so once its done ill save the unprotected map to a disc, that way i have a back up, lol

lol if you want to protect a map, save 2 versions of it (one with like unprotected or something in the name) that way you have 1 which is protected and 1 which is unprotected. I can't stress this enuff though
2 VERSIONS PEOPLE! 2 VERSIONS! 2 OF THE SAME MAP, ONLY 1 IS UNPROTECTED! NOT 1 BUT 2!

like CRAP!

i had my cusins over today and made the mistake on letting them play on this pc. i was busy playin on my PS2 and wasnt paying attention to what they were doing. they are starcraft players and i guess they were making a map of their own with my X-tra editor, it seems that we both save new maps as 'new_map' until we are ready to name it once its done, well the little sh*ts saved over my RPG map so i have to start all over! so im pissed. all that work, oh well. i needed to change a few things anyway. and this time im going to save it twice in two places. this is the last time i let those brats use my crap!

!!! NEWS !!!
  • Tileset changed from Badlands 256x256 to Twilight 256x256 to go with the Dark Realm theme I'm going for
  • Intro and Mission Objectives complete
  • Capital town complete
  • Capital town locations and triggers complete
  • Sorceress' locations and triggers complete (except for two I'm having problems getting to work right)

thats all so far, more news as i get things done...

Ok... trigger question...

First... If you have played Padorath's Return you will understand exactly what I want to happen...

Now the question...

I want each enemy killed to give the same Exp and Minerals to the player that killed it.
I also want each enemy unit(broodlings, hydras, goons, firebats, vultures, etc...) to give different amounts.

(from easiest to hardest unit to kill)
Broodlings will give 125 Exp and Minerals
Zerglings will give 250
Firebats will give 375
Vultures will give 500
Goliaths will give 625
Goons will give 750
Ultras will give 875
Hydras will give 1000

being as how this is first time of done anything of this scale im totaly lost on how to make this work. HOW do i get this to work? this will be for players 1-6. please give step by step, i want this rpg to be perfect before i release it to the public...

i don't get what you are saying.. it sounds like first you wanted each enemy killed to give the same exp and mins to the player but then you wanted the enemies to give dif amounts.
plz clarify and i might be able to help you.

is that not clear enough? the harder the unit is to kill, the more Experiance AND Minerals it will give each time you kill one of those units...

so for the broodlings, you kill one, 125 in MINERALS and EXPERIANCE are added for that player EACH time said player kills one of said unit.

NEWS!

ALL Terrain is done
ALL Units and Buildings placed (Allies and Enemies)
All Locations placed (150 used)
Anti-MapHack set up and is working perfect
Eye Candy set up and is awesome

Now i have to work on the triggers, i have no clue how to do some and will need help with, the rest i can do myself.

if you know ALOT about triggers, please IM me on AIM, i can tell you what i want to happen and how offten i want it to happen.

Update!

I have changed the name to...

Dark Realm: A Queen's Fury

In case you are wondering, yes. I have desided to make this a series... meaning more then one map. Due to how well this current map is coming along, I will be making another one after I release this one, depending on how well the second turns out, there may be a thrid, then a fouth, and so on...

I'm also doing this to shapen my map making skills, up to this point I've made simple single player maps for my own use.
