Been almost a year since I played it for the last time. Maybe I should try again, if I even remember anything anymore.

I've got one. Why?
If you suck at sports, or hate them, it's another thing to do. Asking why someone plays D&D is like asking someone why they use a computer. To pass time, and have some fun.

Which class is the easiest to play as?
If you're playing with a group of friends, the easiest character to play as would be a regular fighter. If none of your friends are a Priest though, I'd strongly recommend getting a Paladin. They aren't as good at healing, but it can be extremely useful if you have no Priests in your party.

That's the most straightforward character you can be.

I assume you're going to be playing 3rd Edition? I've been playing 2nd Edition most of those 8 years. Unfortunately I'm caught between two groups of people that like both editions. Can be difficult to keep up with at times, as the gameplay is completely different in combat.

I have dabbled in D&D a few times with a few friends from school, and it was rather fun to play.

I've played some times with friends, I was a wizard. But I don't like that kind of games, actually... I prefer real time stuff ;)

I played back in my early teens, for a couple months it was even part of are everyday lives. We played with the old first edition books and were really unorthadoxed. Things started falling apart though when parting was put in the mix. Everything would start out fine, and hour later everyone would be piss drunk trying hump foriegn objects.

ahhh the memories.

The closest *anything* I've ever seen to D&D is in video games like Baldur's Gate and Heroes. I am 100% positive no one at my school plays D&D. I don't even know where to find D&D if I wanted to play it. Kind of odd, actually...

I wish I played, but no one in our school plays either...maybe I should start a school club? And F.Y.I. KOTOR is based of the third edition D&D rules...

It's difficult to actually find people that play it if you don't know people that do already. It's not exactly like we advertise for people to come, strictly based on the fact that us D&Ders know there's a lot of immature idiots that would ruin a good game if they weren't really interested in playing.

I will tell you that some people you'd never think play it actually do though. If you know anyone with long hair, or sort of a social outcast from school though, that's likely someone that plays. That's more of the stereotypical gamer though, so it might not help you much.

There should be sites where you can search for nearby D&D conventions where you can meet people near you. That's probably the only way to find someone close to you though. It's not exactly like we all register somewhere at an official Dungeons and Dragons site. :p

Who here actually plays D&D? Just wondering....I might play it myself.
D&D is one of the funnest games I have ever played, especially with a teacher as the narrator(or w/e you call him.) They put you in the strongest situations and you need to get out of them... Anyways, I've only played it two or three times...
