Countering M&M and tanks

How do u counter mm and tanks?

Everytime my opponet uses mm+tanks, I always can't either get a large enough group of hydras+lings or i cant get a large enough group of mutas+lings. Lurkers would not work bc they would get spotted by the sensor sweeper, unless.....i could get my hydras+lings attacking them while my lurks follow behind, but that takes so much micro. Any other ways?

using lurk/hydra/ling is not even much of a micro, infact it isn't even micro unless ur flanking with some good mouse control with it. if u can't do all those things just mass gaurds and ultras

He's talking about a feasable workable strategy.

I dono' who you play man.. but mass lings and hydras should do it. So should mutas/lings.

With mutas/lings... try burrowing a huge ammount of lings, and wait till your opponent is not quite over them, then attack the tanks with mutas, keep using hit and run. Then when they finally get over the lings(halfway) unburrow.. if they make the medics follow, or stay in front, try to unburrow in between them. Either way get those tanks with the mutas, and the lings should easily crush the marines.

Actually, the guardian idea is fine. If I don't have guardians, then I'd try defilers(dark swarm) or drop hydra/lurks in his base as he moves out.

Oh really? Gaurdians + Ultralisks? Hmm... let us take some time and ponder.. hmmm.. building time.. hmm... cost.. hmm.. food taken.. hmm.. fine my ass.

You realize in almost every zvt game, zerg goes mutas(needs lair) first for harassment. If he keeps his mutas alive he can just as well morph them into guards. I'm not sure abut the ultralisk part, though. But guards are just fine.

BTW, at this stage of the game, if zerg kept his expos on-line, then money isn't an issue. Unlike terran, zerg has the mobility to expo like crazy.

Well too bad, because he didn't say just gaurds. =/

Besides, it's just tanks and m&m, not hard at all to counter man.

z does not need muta first for harassment, it depends on player style aka chojja who opens with power muta into tri expo mass lurk/hydra
or yellow opens alot with lurk/ling

zvt opening depends on player style, so not most zerg goes muta for harassment ;)

but really if u can't flank/micro just muta/ling to guard/crack :O it doesn't require micro and burrow, just turtle and power up

you guys are underestimating what that terran force can do, m&m, tank, and vessel can wipe out the zerg force.

The zerg has to get lurks or ultras to have a good chance of taking it out...Hydras and lings won't work because....they just don't!

Guards....that depends on the T player...if he is amateur level, maybe it will work...if they are pro, forget it... Notice when progamers play ZvT, they never go guardians because the terran gosu will wipe them out soo easily, whether it is from irradiate, or SV + m&m combo...

Lurks WILL work the best even if they do have scanner...that is because the terran will most likely retreat his infantry in order to aviod a head on battle because lurks just murder m&m...you have to learn how to control the lurks well, dl some ZvT gosu replays, and see how the zerg uses lurks to kill the terran

yellow vs gundam in 2002 :king of king" matches, yellow has gaurd in 3 of the games along with lurk/hydra, explain why pro don't use gaurds now please?

Its true....i tried a hydra+ling aganst m&m+tanks.....got mudered. Not sure about guards bc usually my opponet gets tanks and m&m faster than i can get gaurds. Lurks/ling/hydra imo is the best rite now agaisnt tanks+m&m

i haven't seen those games...was yellow winning??if he was, then he went guards just for the heck of it...

and who is gundam??i never heard of him b4....is he good??

in a close game between Z and T, the zerg doesn't go guards...if you seen what Xellos[yG] and [ReD]NaDa does when they face guards, then you know what i'm talking about...they own them like itz nothing!

xellos and nada just d matrix thier rine vs gaurds, if you watch all thier game, i can assure you they have lost vs gaurds --;
you really need a good solid research for pros --; Gundam is v gundam, his style is called bamboo terran because of his endless push tvp --;

I think going for guardians is ok as long as it's not for killing off the M&M force. Just get a few to harass, destroy a couple of buildings, or kill of a few marines. (As a Terran player I have to say that if you mass guardians, you're mad.)

Using lurkers is probably the best strategy for destroying tanks and M&Ms, provided that you have enough of them. (Again, as a terran player, I must retreat my forces once lurkers have burrowed, or I'm mad.) Use zerglings to help, it'll help the lurkers to burrow. If you have outnumbered the marines with zerglings and have upgraded their speed, you can surround the marines so that they can't escape. Then kill them.

If you're creative enough, you can ensare the marines and then send in the lurkers, it'll be total massacre.

guards, lurks and defilers are your best friends. I suppose throwing in 1 or 2 queens with ensnare couldn't hurt.
