Ok so I'm making a Counter-Strike map... I have the basic ideas set so far... it's going to be the smallest map (64x64) and a desert-dirt map set. It's going to be a basic remake of the de_dust map from CS. I'm just looking for some ideas or suggestions for almost anything about the map. As I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to triggers or anything yet, the bomb will be given to the same terrorist player every game. Here's what I have so far...

Every kill gives you $300 (minerals), a winning round gives you $3,000, and a losing round gives you $1,500. Will probably go to 15 rounds till I test to see the average lengths.

Buying weapons will give you units, obviously, but you can only buy one. The weapons/ units will be:

SMG(Marine) : 200 health, 15 damage. ($2,000)
Rifle(Marine) : 200 health, 25 damage. ($3,000)
Rifle with scope(Marine) : 200 health, 25 damage, guass rifle upgrade. ($,3500)
Sniper rifle(Ghost) : 150 health, 75 damage. ($4,000)
Machine gun(Marine) : 200 health, 75 damage. ($4,500)

I'll probably also make pistols... obviously cheaper and less damage. Not sure what unit to use though.

I'll also try to make the 'body armor' upgrade as to where everyone has a engin. bay they can gain control of in the buying area... but the max upgrade for armor is 1 and and every round it resets... not sure if this is possible or not.

Thoughts or suggestions?

You should make it random like it is in the game. I'm not really sure what your vision is, as far as exceeding what you already wrote, but as soon as you hit any kind of problem in making your map, just lemme know and I'll set you straight :) That is especially for triggers.. you want something done but can't figure out how, just say so and I'll figure something out for you :D

Also, I think you have a pretty solid design so far. Always a good first step :)

How do you do four marines with different damages? You can only make two...

SMG(Marine) : 200 health, 15 damage. ($2,000)
Rifle(Marine) : 200 health, 25 damage. ($3,000)
Rifle with scope(Marine) : 200 health, 25 damage, guass rifle upgrade. ($,3500)

Machine gun(Marine) : 200 health, 75 damage. ($4,500)

Those two are the exact same Marine, he said it's just with the guass rifle upgrade. I am assuming the Machine Gun is the first or second marine with a weapon's upgrade that will set its attack to 75 damage after it's bought. It's not difficult to do guys :p

So, how will you do it if one doesn't have cash in a round to buy the Machine Gun, and has to buy the SMG?

As far as I can figure, your equipment is permanent. There's no way to take back stuff like guass rifle upgrade and weapons/armor upgrades. Maybe dying would cause you to lose all your money, so on the next round it's like you're starting from scratch. It'd make getting enough money for the upgrades a bit harder, so once you do buy it, it being permanent would be a good thing, and make people buy everything in order so they aren't worried about losing their money. Besides, in a SC CS map, losing your weapons and armor everytime you die would seem to be extremely frustrating :p I don't know what he has planned, so I can't speak on his behalf, but those are my thoughts.
