Corrupted Sound Files

I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to sound / music on computers, but I've noticed that a lot of songs that you download from, say, Kazaa, have this wierd corruption. I'm sure most people have noticed it, it's where the song plays for a little bit, then it makes this screeching sound.

Anyone know what causes this? Im just curious.

It was only an example . And, my real question was, why do some songs have this corruption? What are its causes? Enlighten me!

I use WinMX, never got one of those. I've got the occasional users wanting me to share my porn files sure but never any errors.

Those songs are so anooying eh? its the government. they dont want us to get free songs anymore, so they croud up kazaa with all the popular songs.. that dont work.. and they make it say its best quality and such.. just keep on looking for a version that works.. i think its way better than paying for the song am i right?

its not the government..

its the RIAA. they dont want people downloading music, so they flooded the servers with the newest songs that have these errors on them. If you get the new kazaa light, it blocks all the RIAA servers so you dont download the error'd songs from them. but other than that, not many people have klight so the spreading of the erroring songs is growin imensly.


now.. there is no way to fix this, so i suggest finding an alternative way to get your music. online music stores are growing, and so are other p2p networks (not gnutella)

yeah thats the magic of the RIAA which started ALONG time ago. When i had my first share of about 10 corupted songs, i thought my comp was ****ed up, but then i tried cd's and shit, and it worked.

Id suggest winmx, though it is slow as ****, there isnt that much corupted songs, if any.

They make the scratch noises because its the record exec's not wanting people to rip off free music. It happened with KaZaa, it happened with KaZaa Lite, and will eventually happen with KaZaa Lite Res, but who cares, there's always going to be ways around it. And hell, just steal the CD's, it's easy enough to do.

hmm, i for 1 use "BearShare" i used Kazaa for a long time, try bearshare!!! it OWNS kazaa, kazza light, ect... some better features too, and i NEVER got a screeching sound...

go to msn.com and look for the searchbar and type in BearShare and download it from there... get the free version!!! thats what i have, and it dosent expire in X amount of days!!!
