Computer Savy? READ!

Ok so i was given a broken laptop from a client @ work, the vid card went out and the part (new) is 400+ dollars, so he decided to toss it, naturally I offered to take it off his hands

I was originally going to part it out on ebay, but ive decided i like the style of it (HP DV2200, DV2000 series), and would like to find a repair for it that (Hopefully) doesnt surpass the 200 dollar mark, as I've read up on it, and i know this model seems to be having alot of these issues, so i figure itll happen again once i repair it

Anyone have any suggestions for fixing/bypassing the problem? Anyone know a trustworthy laptop mobo repair service that isnt ungodly expensive? Or possibly a cheap USB Graphics card? Seen a few of them but they all have crap reviews or are ungodly priced.

orr if anyone happens to know someone wanting to sell a broken HP DV2000 laptop that has a problem OTHER thant he videocard/mobo going out, let me know

@cheeze: i told you before im a tech, when a computer gets junked because they dont wanna pay the price to fix it, i can get dibs on it if i want, and i wanted this lol

@ chris: im breaking down and bidding on a mobo on ebay, not gunna be 400 bucks, but sure aint gunna be as cheap as id like

the way i see it, after repairs i can sell this thing for 600 bucks easy if i decide i miss the money and dont want the laptop, so no harm no foul.

To me, a member of the community for several years now, it seems like its alright to bash little-cheeze because you don't like him, but when someone says something about BFH, you get all bent out of shape. You do realize that Laharl's post was completely unnecessary, do you not?

Both posts were pretty unnecessary. He was simply stating that he thinks LC and Dragn aren't going to be friends, which they can't because they dont like each other. But the thing about LC is he doesnt really take things as seriously as Laharl does. When Laharl gets mad, he has been known to go out of control a bit. I would like to avoid that scenario again if all possible.

Those two are having some small trouble getting along now because of the D2 section.

all parts are purchased, just waiting for them to get here and start the fun,

im also looking into moding it up with some blue LEDS aroudn the edges, possibly under the keyboard, and maybe a nice skin for the top of it...
