Colored Game Names

Heres a guide on how you can color your game names. It might be a tad long as of now, and anyone is welcome to simplify it.

simplified so stupid people wouldnt abuse it, at everyones request:

Basically, use a hex editor to get the character ÿc[color code] at the beginning of your game name. 0a is hex code for new line, has a really cool effect.

you hit create game and it shows up to people looking for a game as colored, and overlapping if u do that.
try it on classic HC where there are only like 3 games at a time and ull see what i mean

Coolspot... you just made a giant impact on Diablo II, now every noob that isn't lazy is going to do this... say hello to colored games all across B.net, don't make a program for it so that not EVERY game will be colored because it would cause major migraines when people have purple, red, yellow, orange, blue, green, white ect all right beside each other.

I don't know if this is such a good idea to release, you should keep to yourself this could be patched if everyone does it.

It's ok, he didn't really give all information... but there IS too much info up there get it off off off off! this is funny watching noobs go crazy though, this is cool dont let it get patched please. make people have to buy for $50 like the drophack...

I thought this was better known, just not used due to the ease of detection...meh.

Since I really see no problematic situations occurring due to people getting ahold of something like this (it's not a dupe or anything - and taking away other people's ability to do this won't stop patching, Blizzard knows this is possible...), I've attached a small program I put together in VB to simplify the process - pending mod approval of course.

The instructions are straightforward. Start, type something, click something...it only changes color right now.


It's only been tested on my computer, which runs WinXP - so no gauruntee that it works for everyone...

erm, what? I merely said keeping this more of a "secret" isn't going to stop it from being patched...

Oh ok, I understand now... But the channel colors wasn't patched until color was overused dramaticly by those damned spam botsp) and I am not sure it would have been w/o these.

Once item stores figure this out they will make colored games left and right hoping all the noobies will join and listen to their spam. Then we wont be able to scroll down on Join Game list without be bombarded with (starting off)10-20 colored names of different colors and maybe even(after a while)20-30... >_< this will again make playing Diablo II a pain in the ass and Blizzard will patch it.


This is just my opinion, I would love for you to prove me wrong... but until then I think this is a bad idea to release :/ let them figure it out on their own, they are smart kiddies .
