Color Scheme For Different Players

I have noticed that in a few maps that the color for a particular player would be an off color. Let me elaborate.
(Default Colors) Player is 1 is Red, Player 2 is Blue, so on and so forth until player 8.
I have seen, for instance, player 1 be a white/black marble color for all his units. I have opened the map up using SF and looked at the player colors. The color number was a number higher then 8. I know player 9 is Dark green & 12 is the neutral units for players that left the game. Whenever I type in a color number for that player then play the game, the player's color is not a color beyond player 8 (of course I saved the map). Under forces I have made sure that the "Random Start Location" is not check off. Basically I want the off/marble colors for the players and seem to have not achieved it. I can't even get player 1 to be a differnt color other then red, not unless I check off "Random Start Location"
Any Thoughts?

I've tried changing player colors with StarForge 2.2. I don't think it works. So it'd be best to change player colors with good old Guedit or SCMToolkit programs.

Thanks for the numbers for the type of colors, but I have downloaded both toolkit and GUedit and they are both pissing me off.
I downloaded java Runtime Environment v2 and all the requirements for toolkit.
For GUedit, I can open a map; do whatever I want to it, and when it comes time to save the map, it.. uh... Doesn’t! It is 1 of 2 things. It cannot save over the original map/file, or if I change the name the map, GUedit does nothing. Just sits there. :angry
For toolkit, I can open the program but whenever I try to open a map, it has a "cannot find mpq2k.exe" then the options window pops up. The website that I downloaded the toolkit from gave me the other files needed to run the program. I'm thinking that it is a read only program because every time I try to change the directory for the mpq2k.exe file, it doesn't save. Keeps saying cannot find mpq2k.exe when it is in the same directory as the toolkit.exe file.
If it is the actual program that I downloaded and not me, could you give me a web site that you know has a good copy of GUedit and Toolkit? (with the need files also please)

I just tried changing player colors on StarForge 2.2 and it works. So my tip to you is to use StarForge 2.2 to change colors but if you open the map under SCXE, the players' colors will change back to default colors. So changing a players colors should be one of the last things you do to your map.

For Guedit help:
Try moving the whole Guedit directory into your system folder. It 'might' work.
If you have Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\(A user account)\WINDOWS\system

For SCMToolkit help:
Try loading the mpq2k.exe file under the options tab and then load up the map. Then it'll give you the error message and a options window will pop up again. Load up the mpq2k.exe file again and see if the map loads after you have clicked OK.
