anyone know how to make a cloaking effect on ps? like in the movie predator

sort of transparentsy but bending the shap of objects too.... like selecting an area and putting 3d balls around it

try selecting the area and adding a slight guassian blur to it...then liquifing the inner parts of it, if you liquify the outside it just looks like a blur

JD Ever see the movie Predator? When he using his cloaking device, it looks like there is something between you and whatever is behind him, just like in Die Another Day when Bond can make his car go Invisible (until he starts to move).

I made the image after I posted, lay off.

Is that what you're trying to do? It doesn't work well on light backgrounds, so try it on a really colorful and dark background to be more effective. That was Liquify: Brush Size = 6, Intensity/Hardness (whatever the hell it's called) 100, with a few strokes all over it. Then feathered 2 pixels, and .5 Gaussion blur.

take the Image you want to make look transparent...

Desurate, give it better contrast, and save it as a .psd

then to to the BG, and filter > distort > Displace
choose the file that you saved, and pow :)
