Well, I would think that banning an entire country from the Olympics because of drugs is too harsh, seeing as how people have freewill and are not watched 100% to make sure they can only compete and do nothing else. They do have private time and they can do whatever they want in that time. Also, I think that the whole banning because of drugs like marijuana is kind of strange if you think about it. Because probably in most cases, a drug like that won't improve your performance, it will hinder it. Heh, now I'm actually against drugs, but you would think that if someone can pull off a medal while being high like that, they are probably pretty good. But I'm not sure, I've never taken those drugs, so I could be completely off base on that, but as far as I know, drugs tend to cloud clear thinking and that would probably hinder you in most events at the Olympics. I know it most surely would in the gymnastics or running events.
As for things like steroids and such, those things are pretty far off base because they are artificial enhancers, and the games are more about what the body can naturally do. Even though training also enhances abilities, it be far less interesting if no one was able to practice/train for their events
