Chance to cast spells on attack

M

Mordib

hey all,

Im trying to create a weapon with a number of on attack chance to cast spells. Im using d2x item creator and can get them on fine. it all looks like its working (the visual effects of the spells are shown) but they arent actually doing anything to the monsters they hit.
So my question to you all is what am i doing wrong??

Thanx

m.

Doesn't work for me either

I noticed the same effect and have found that nothing works either in both the item editor and jamella. It would be interesting to determne if the natural items in the game with the "chance to ..." actually do anything either.

one reason cood be that the charge is dead, dowtful, but maybe

another is maybe the monsters are immune to the spell u set the attack to cast ( my scythe for my necro casts a lvl 100 poison nova and a lvl 79 meteor all in one attack)

the last i could think of is maybe the enemies were hacked but that is very, VERY dowtful

PS

Maybe ur weapons broke
lol!

palenova:

** Ignore this post and all (**) marked. See my last post.

1. The weapons I make aren't charged; they say either "chance to cast X on attack" or "on striking".

2. The monsters are not immune to the spell i'm using, as anything in the first area of act one hell should be keeling over with a level 31 meteor, and i am trying a variety of enemies.

3. How did you get level 70 - 100 spells on striking? I use "D2X Item Editor" (aka Fuzziers) and "Jamella". Both can be found at DiabloSpace (www.mewgood.com). These editors only allow up to level 31 spells on attack or striking.

4. The enemies were not hacked, as a normal spell of this type (and level) casted by my sorceress kills them. I also am not playing a mod and have my original files from the game.

And my weapon is not broke :) (it is indestructible)

I have made very small weapons with high level spells on attack and striking and none of them seem to do any damage.

Diabloaltana and/or punk rock yam:

Then prove it - email me a phase blade with no extra attributes except for a level 70 spell on striking. Something visible, like firewall or chain lightning.

And if you are going to, test it yourself first. With the above combo, almost anything in hell _should_ keel over.

I don't get it: open BNET doesn't host games, it only connects them. Why would so many "on striking/attack" make it lag?

Also, I apologize to everyone except the Punk:

Icedragon is right, the "Chance to cast X on whatever" has been removed recently.

Personally, since I don't play on BNET, I'm just rolling my copy back to v1.09. I cannot see any major changes between 1.09 and 1.09d, and such an attribute is too great to sacrifice.
