CD spinup when bosses die

Almost every time a boss (Baal, D, etc. ... anything with a special death animation) dies, my computer lags while the CD spins up ... thus I miss almost all good drops ... Is there some way to prevent this from happening?

sometimes when a boss dies it opens up a game cinemtic and ur game knows its on the wayand tries to get ready for it but the graphics might be too much for your comp and it cant handle them? could be that
maybe if u have other programs running then try closing them before you play but if u have AOL ur screwed. maybe its just your game disc. i would reccomend buying a new one or buying some CD lceaner for about a $ each and wiping it with the CD. ther emight be a nasty scratch that glitches your game.

I suggest using Onlyer's no cd loader, which will allow you to run Diablo II without a cd.
