CD-KEY needed for LAN Gaming ?

Hi,

FIRST thing i want to point out : I legally bought the game and play on the internet.

my question: 2 of my friends and me wannt play on LAN (version 1.6), does everyone need a CD-Key ? or can they just install steam and play LAN ?

I think u need a cd key to install it, but the same cd key can be used more then once on lan.

Well, you are going to need two seperate cd-keys to log into steam. You CAN however, play CS 1.5 without having any cd-keys. Just use 3333-33333-3333 as your cd-key and have fun. Like I said, that is LAN only and will obviously not work online becuase that is only a Valve Filler key.

ok, so even when we only play lan, we need to connect to steam ? does that mean you also need to be online when playing on lan (beause otherwise how can u connect to steam) ?

No, he's saying don't use Steam. Use CS 1.5 and a copy of CS Retail for it. If you want to play on Steam, you'll each need your own CD-key.

If you search for it, most places will try and get you to go through file-planet or game-shack
