CD KEY HELP!

I gave my cousin my diablo II. he installed it with my cd key but he has his own exp. and hisa own cd key

We still cant play at the same time, so he got another cd key that aowrks although it dosent work on the internet!

why dowsernt it work on the internet, i really wanna play at the same time as him because hes always on and i never get to play! ,

plz help me

did he get it from a key generator or did he buy the game. and he needs to get a cd key changer to change his key.
