CD in CD drive spin this much?

well mines spinning non-stop and i was woundering if there is a way to stop it from doing this?

Yea my 52x Races non-stop, what I do is just put the CD in the burner, where its only 32x Read.

Other than that I don't know anyway to fix it, maybe get the game to run off the computer and without the CD?
