I use my original disc for about 3-4 years and I dont know if these shitty teeth of the box for holding the CD have caused it - you need to FIGHT with the cd to get it off the teeth as you bend the disc a little with FEAR of damaging it- anyway due to these teeth holding the disc too strong i dont put my CD in the original box. However, I saw that my CD has a CRACK - a REAL crack. It looks like a line.
So the line started with only milimeters - covering only the transparent ring. The CD has been in the ROM and it seems the laser has cut even BIGGER LINE day by day as the line went through the ring with the unique code and STARTED the silver-colourful part! Each time the ROM read the CD the line got bigger! I decided to stop it by putting little amount of transparent glue that is very strong (it can even snap your fingers together) that dries out in seconds covering only the transparent ring and with a very thin layer just to cover the crack - I repeat - it covered only the transparent part which is not read by the drive. And the line did not get bigger. As a result my CD was read slowlier than usual - i think not because of the glue but because of the line. And here came the bad part: Sometimes the CD cannot be read AT ALL. I clicked 'Retry' nothing happened. I tried to eject it - it didnt work! The CD has blocked the DVD ROM and I couldnt take the CD out of the dvd rom! It only worked and not every single time when i turned the computer off and if the DVD ROM started reading, otherwise if the green light of the ROM didnt blink there was no way to eject it.
I can still use my CD but sometimes causes that problem and the reading and starting of wc3 is slowlier. I decided to use Alcohol 120% as from Stormhawks' thread i read he made an image that didnt even require the disc to be insterted. However, some problems occured. I created an image but I cannot be sure about the Data Type of the Original War3 Frozen throne disc - this is needed and is mentioned in the Help - you need to know the Data type of the original disc - I dont know if you choose another but least of all the Image may not be recognized as an original. Options are up there Data Type.
