well...

about the computer AI script Load Transport.

it seems... the comp will load it but the comp won't hold it.
(i think this is quite a nice little sound bite) :goofy

does the comp set to default for itself to always unload?

cuz.. i can't get it to keep the units inside the transport.

and... nowhere in my triggers do i execute the ai script for
Exit Transport.

i guess.. there is something i gotta do to the computer player
to get it to keep the units inside the dropship???

just a note:
also.. by GIVING a dropship to a person... the units inside are not
given like i thought it would be when you Mind Control from a D.A.
- although i thought it would be the same.
i just want to double chek if that's always the case or
just something wrong with my triggering.

Enter Transport only works on Human and Neutral players. Computer units will fill the transport, and then immediately exit. There is no way to keep them in, even if you tell the dropship to move, they will hop out one at a time along the way.

Use Neutral instead of Computer, and your problem is solved. As for giving units, just give the dropship to another player and they get all the units inside as well, just like with mind control. You can force a Computer to mind control a dropship, but it wouldn't matter since it's Computer, and all the guys inside would hop right out :p

But yeah, Neutral and Human units will stay in the dropship after you force them in, and giving units works as stated above, like mind control. If you have further questions on either subject, I have constructed a map which illustrates both points. It makes the marines enter the dropship, where they stay, and then it gives you the dropship, so you can see you get all the units inside as well. Here it is, and good luck on the map :)

heh. i made a boo-boo in my observation of what happens when you GIVE
units.... that's why i thought i dint' get the units inside.
for some reason, it looked like i got my dropship back to my human player
before the scv (belonging to the comp) popped outta the dropship.

ok... im gonna go try the neutral ... what do i lose if that team is "neutral"??

can i still get them to execute various AI scripts that attack and such?

thanks for covering my error.

You can use any script on a neutral player that you could use on a human. Things like "Expansion Terran Campaign Insane" aren't going to work, but "Enter Transport" will. You'll have to experiment to see which scripts work on neutral, but there aren't many, just ones that force them to complete basic actions, as I said, the ones that work on human players as well.

The difference between neutral players and computers:

1. Neutral players don't respond to most AI Scripts.
2. Neutral players start allied to everyone by default.
3. Human players can choose to ally/unally Neutral players in their Diplomacy menu.
4. Neutral players do not show up in the lobby.
5. Neutral players are not willful (they won't leave dropships or other such actions without you making them).

Which one is better just depends on what you need them for :)

so... you can get them to attack to some location - just the AI is not so good?

Yeah, actual AI scripts don't work on them, as in, scripts which tell them to do complicated tasks. I think Junkyard Dog might work on them, but I can't remember, you'd have to check. Suicide Missions might as well, but like I said, you'd have to try it to find out. 'Order' works the exact same way for Neutrals as it does for Computers.
