Cannot connect to game

so my friend and I are trying to play a game of warcraft 3 over his Lan. I brought my apple computer and hooked up with no problems. We can both connect to other games however we cannot connect to our own. Anybody know why? (we know it's not a mac and pc thing. we did this at my house with my computer and a dell)

he has a dell - just bought it. Dunno the model number...high end though. The most frustrating is we could do this before and now we can connect to others games, just not ours.

it won't work over the internet either - we figured that a lan might work instead...so yeah...any idea?

uhhh nope or just get a different computer besides mac

best i can say is enable the ipx protocol in your network settings, dunno how that would work for a mac, but thast what i always do when i want to play lan games

You cant join eachothers games because it's the same IP connecting to itself, which just doesn't work.

If you wan't to play him do it at your own house with him at his

I try. Is he using a router? Because if you're connected to his that's why you can't connect. It's like the same line.

Routers should still let you play games, I could on my old lan. If you can try playing at your house and him at his. I don't know what it could be unless the network isn't functioning right. Can you share a folder on one computer and look at it from the other?
