HELP!!!!!!!!! Map making

Well I am a very good map maker but i have one drawback I suck at making terrain so I am asking you kind map makers to make me a Map on insitilation 96 by 96 or 128 by 128 that resembles a mansion.

After that I will be sure to give you credit for the terrain and you will no longer have to work on the map any longer.

If you Descide to do this thank you very much and plz send it to me at my email or though threads.

I made one for you.. its alright, feel free to modify it if you so desire. I made a combination of ISOM / Square terrain.

Hey, here's a tip that i use, and made up for myself.

When i make a map, i have a storyline (If it is RPG related), that evolves throughout the course of playing the map, and so too, would the Terrain. So with the mansion, imagine that you are inside this story of yours that you made up and see what the mansion looks like.

I just thought of a mansion myself, a large door that leads to a foyer area, with some stairs to the north, a door to the left, and a door to the right. The stairs loop around and above you creating a mezzanine. So, from here, i'd just make terrain that would correspond to what i said, to the best of my ability. Of course it's a bit hard to create a good looking mezzanine in SC maps.

Lol, creating a mezzanine would be physically impossible in SC.. unless the upper floor was another area, of course.

That terrain didnt take me very long to do, so I wont be offended if you dont want to use it.

A question, i downloaded your terrain. It looks nice, although i obviously have no idea what's what, seeing as i aren't making the map. But in the corners, there are just gaps, are they certain areas to be accessed, or just nothing? I'm just curious, because i always like to fill those unwanted gaps with the terrain that is the wall on the nearest accessable area.

I left those open for Seleting areas, secret rooms, etc. This map just screams to be modified, so I left a few open areas for good measure.

I tried to put in a good ISOM + Square terrain mix; thats always fun. Near the start locations, with the posts slinging upward; that kinda looks good for a "waiting" area.

I try to avoid Square terrain as much as possible. Unless it is for a defense map that yearns for it. Only because i guess i try to make my RPGs as real as possible. :rolleyes

I appreciate square terrain because its neat and orderly; and yea, Isometric terrain is definetly better for realism. My current RpG uses a large section of square terrain for Limit Breaks, summons, and what not, but the actual RpG uses Isometric terrain.

Note: Only Starforge can convert back and forth between these two types.

Whoa buddy, dont blow a fuse.

Um.. well, you cant make a map in 64x64 terrain, save it, and then edit its size.. to put it simply, your screwed. Start over and make the map size 96x96.

To upload a file, respond to this thread, and below where the message box is (Where you put your reply) it says Options. Right below that, it says "Attach File." Over to the right, it says "Browse." Click the browse button. This will allow you to pick a file from your harddrive and put it on the site.

Easy as llama cake (Dont ask).

What's llama cake?

Can you re-size using StarForge? Or SCMDraft? I remember seeing some sort of option...

I highly doubt it. I think that once you save a map in a certain terrain size, something in the coding makes it impossible to change it..

StarForge allows the option to resize maps, but so far all I get is a crash every time I try it.
