Well, some guy had a game named "Join for Free" so I joined. The guy says if I join his clan he would give me either a 40 hoto, a mara, 2 sojs, botd, or some other godly item. I'm thinking it is too good to be true and he tells me to go to some website and sign up. I thought it was too good to be true so I just made my self c/i so he wouldn't hack me or something. I'm just wondering, can you get a virus from entering a site?

Not usually. With Internet Explorer it was a lot easier to use CGI exploits and such...but if you use FireFox it seems like it will work. Note though, don't use your D2 Account Name and Password to sign up.

He told me that I didn't have to put my d2 account/pass or "any of that crap". So you can get a virus/popped from just clicking on a link?

you can be forced to download and open the virus if your click on a link. i used to do it alot in 1.09. if the trojan was small enough say 50 kb itll download quik and run it so you then have the virus.

If it's not encrypted, yes. Most forums encrypt them though.

On the matter of getting a virus by opening a website, you can. It happens all the time without people knowing it. If threes a script in place, and you don't have a browers that protects against scripts being run without you knowing, it can automatically download and run any said program or file onto your computer without you knowing.

You're hilarious Hitsua, I'm still wondering how you got that "Forum Cockmaster" title. Anyways, that post was just a bump so I could see more detailed answers. Thanks for the help.
