When i sign into my account(s) on starcraft and Brood War it says my account is muted and i cannot chat in channels. Thats a bit hard because i used to be in a clan. It's weird anyone know why? i tried to re-install it, but nothing seems to work

(is cursing allowed in a sig? until i find out ima not gonna post mine)

Blizzard usually does that to accounts that have been under suspicion for attempting to get other player's CD Keys, or other malicious behavior, or spamming channels. This basically means that they have now prevented you from receiving whispers while logged on, whether you're in game or in channel.

I believe you can e-mail them if you believe you have been muted without cause, and petition your argument. However it's a good idea to reflect on your past actions on B.net, and see if they did it for a good reason

If you can't get your CD Key unmuted, the only other alternative is to get another valid CD Key that will work online (ie, buy a new copy of StarCraft )

Thanks. I hadn't been on Starcraft for 6-8 months, and just recently i got on to talk to a friend and play a little and it said my account had been muted. Why i do not know, but it is unfair of them to do this when i haven't even been on for over a half a year!

You should e-mail them, and tell them exactly that. Additionally make sure someone didn't "borrow" your CD Key, and do some naughty stuff with it. Blizzard will not distinguish between you and a friend. Heh, how do they know you're not a shady bastard? I am and you'd never guess... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

LoL!! yeah i e-mailed them. Thanks for your help. (im gonna kill my buddy Ricer... just found out he stole my cd-key for his burned copy)
