Why the hell do I lag so much in a low population level, with cable? Any ideas to lower lag?

Yeah, it meets everything. And, no, it's not at Ironforge, it's at Durotar. I died three or four times today with my new Orc Hunter (can't stand alliance, they're so bloody newbies), against some damned harpies, because of that lag. And I had absolutely nothing on. Could it be the server (EU Chrommagus)?

--Edit--

I mean, this is what happens. All of a sudden, when I am in battle, the game freezes, the mobs continue walking if they are walking, and my guy just doesn't attack. I can move, I can do whatever, but it's all stuck. Like if everyone's brain stoped.

Makes no sense, and it's bloody annoying. I think I'm gonna quit the game because I can't play it.

That happened to me when my internet started to **** up. I changed ISP's because of it.

Sometimes the lag resolves itself though. For a while I wouldn't lag on this one server, and then I'd lag for about a week or so..then it finally went away again.

This past week on some US Server the lag was so terrible that was the symptom of what happen to some people. See if it's your latency to the server, or check the forums and see if anyone else is having the same problems as you are for that server.

How are you connected to your ISP? Wireless network card? Ethernet? Dialup?

Dialup, or using a cheap router could involve packet loss, and temporary loss of connection to your ISP. When the data signal resumes, that's when it stops lagging for you.

You're either uploading more information than your download bandwidth can handle (on dialup), or you have poor connection to your ISP, which you may not notice while browsing websites, or doing something else that doesn't involve a constant connection to the internet.

If the advice everyone else has given doesn't fix it, it's probably something with your equipment, or ISP.

My computer is superprotected, anti-virus, spybot, firewall (btw, I configurated it as said in the WoW site). Either way, I've been talking with people, and apparently my ISP are upgrading servers (the one they have now date from '99...). Hopefully, it'll stop. I hope it's soon enough.

I'll try to see if it is of the UI, though. It may be too heavy.

Tried it, didn't do shit. As I said, it is my ISP, they're updating the servers. Means I won't play WoW till like February or so.
