Start by putting in the motherboard, if you screw up putting that into the case, you should just quit life.

Those wires are for speakers, power leds, etc. so READ THE MANUAL. If you wire them wrong you could melt them. It happened last year in computer class we smelled burning plastic and someone wired those wrong.

Make sure your IDE drives are jumpered correctly, and make sure the red wire (1st) pin is facing PSU.
Care to elaborate further? I dont know much about this jumper crap. And what do you mean by the red wire pin facing psu?

ok most IDE cables(at least the older ones I use) (yours is brand new so I wouldn't count on it being the same) have 1 of the many wires they are made up of red while the rest are grey. The red wire is the 1st pin and it faces the PSU. For you you will probably have a notch on one side of the plastic end of the cable and a matching hole in the socket it goes into, so it can only go in one way you probably won't need to worry about it. When using IDE drives more than one can go into the same spot on the motherboard because the IDE cables have 2 ends, for this to work you need to set the little plastic piece into the right pins on the back of the drive. If you only have 1 HDD this shouldn't be a problem, but lots of people use multiple CD/DVD drives so it's best to make sure one is set to master and the other is set to slave. There might be diagrams on the drives themselves to show how to put the plastic piece in for the different settings.
