I downloaded a whole bunch of skins, but I can't get them to work. They're in .blp format, and it seems that in order to work as a skin, they need to be in .mdl format. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to find some sort of converter program to get them from .blp to .mdl?

Hrm. Okay, well, here's what I've been trying to do. I've been trying to load the sucker into the "Art - Model File" field, which seemed like the only possible place to put it. If it's not, where is the right field? And do I have to have the matching .mdl file to go along with it? (i.e. If it's a skin for the Blood Mage, does the Blood Mage mdl need to be in the "Art - Model File" field?)

If you are trying to skin a bloodmage, import the skin into the World Editor import manager. Double click it, and type its custom path as Textures\HeroBloodElf.blp (i believe) after you import it, type the same path in the custom section in Art- Model File.

Thank you SO much for your help so far. But that didn't do it. I did exactly what you said (I even tried making the path Texture\HeroBloodMage.blp), but that didn't do it. Any other ideas?

Oh, right...one thing I forgot to mention... Whenever I type "YaddaYadda.blp" into the field, it automatically changes it to "YaddaYadda.mdl" - if that helps at all.

Okay... I tried that, and when I put in the second one (Units\Human\etc...), closed the map, and reopened it, he was just the regular Kael skin, not the one that I had been hoping to put in. I guess maybe the skin's just bad. Can you put a link one that you know works so I can know it's not me who's an idiot? Again, thanks for all of your help.

Okay, I tried that. When I put in the second path (Units\Human\etc...), I got the regular Kael skin. I saved, closed, opened, and it was still the same regular skin. Do you think it's possible that the skin's just f'ed up? If so, could you put a link to a skin that you know works? Again, thanks for all your help.

The path is Textures\HeroBloodElf, not blood mage. if that dosen't work, try Units\Human\Kael\Kael.blp. If you want to see the skin in the world editor, you have to save your map, close it, and open it again.
