I think why Blizzard makes Ghost a console game is that, console can do better on 3d graphic than computers...
But there might be others, such as, they want to spread starcraft into console games, and make it famous, you must know that there are still a lot of Americans love console games and are indifferent about computer games. most People around me where I live never heard of starcraft. It might be a strategy of blizzard, who might be preparing to make a starcraft 2 which will strike the whole globe... think about diablo and warcraft, they all have sequels, only starcraft doesn' have one.
warcraft 3 is not quite successful, so may be Ghost; but they are the attempts of blizzard to enter the field of 3D. 3D games are very different from 2D. of course.
I believe Brood war is the highest point of 2D strategy games, there ain' no body ever gone beyond BW; So does blizzard thinks, because they didnot make much balance changes in the 1.10 patch. 1.10's replay function is incapable with other versions, that's weird, but I think there maybe 2 reasons, first, they made some changes in the replay function because in earlier versions the replays are not very accurate; second, it indicates that 1.10 is the final perfect version.
Blizzard is not going down, it just has passed its golden age. In most companies, when the golden age passes, if they don't make big changes they become incompetitive, IBM is a good example. Now it's time for blizzard to make big changes. They simply can't do any better on 2D games. They need to try 3D, at which blizzard is almost a newbie.
I trust Blizzard, they always and will always make the best game. As far as starcraft 2, I believe blizzard is going to make a totally new game. this game will be critical, if it succeeds, blizzard will gain a new life; if it fails, blizzard will die. They are very careful about it. Let's just watch.
