Blizz Sorc looking for opinion

Yeah im a lvl 82 blizzard sorc that just started playing ladder.

Ive got no good gear yet but wanna start doing meph runs so i can get better gear.

everytime i try moat trick i get rolled by any creatures around that are.
do you have any advice on what i should do?

getting items another way?/leveling more?/other place to MF for the time being?

What's your gear actually? And your resists in hell?

How have you put skills / stats?

Lvl 82 is quite good 4 a sorc to make all kinds of runs in hell, maybe there's something to be corrected in your setup.

Maybe you should MF in NM or do Hell Andy until you have sufficent gear to do Hell Meph. You should list your stats, gear, skills, and everything so that we can better give you an answer as to why you can't kill Hell Meph. But if all else fails, NM Meph until you can get some better items. He can drop an Occulus you know.

Why the **** do you tele into blood lords then? If you do it right you can go straight to meph without coming near a monster that can get to you, and then you moat him and the worst that can get you is hydras. You're obviously either not using MH or are a very bad tele'r.

no i mean like sometimes the council members close to the portal will be casting spells across from me while i do the moat trick

the problem is probably your items, post them no matter how much they suck. we need to know them to find out what can make you better.

you should probably kill all the monsters around meph first, and if not all, just clear one side, and lure meph over to that side. no monsters will hassle you then

is it hell meph your doing? if so, dont. not yet at least. with -80 res your probably gonna get 1 hit killed my a single meph orb or 3/4 hyrda's. if you absolutely need to mf, do all of the nm bosses. i did that and found some decent stuff to wear/trade. and if that isn't netting you anything good, go into the sticky and look at some of the mf area's. search through them and find ones with little to no cold immunes so you dont have to worry about that. that should net you good stuff also, and do all the bosses that are easy for you, like andy. shes pretty easy and her minions are never cold immune, unless its a champion.

get a merc. they are SO useful. even with shit items, if you keep feeding him potions he can usually kill the cold immunes.

i've never had a problem with meph. just get a ravenfrost, 65+ lite resist, and use ss, i just sit next to meph and kill him. its quite easy

you shouldn't need to moat while using blizz... just cast and dodge shots during the delay... jesus, I can do him with meteor w/o moat trick and blizzard even gives you cold slow

People...the problem is when he is tele'ing. My Sorc can take about 2 hits from Meph Lightning, but dies maybe once every 500 games or so. Why? You tele into on the other side of the wall from entering, either A) Kill the Council or B) get them away, then moat-meph on the left side of the portal. If you are attracting blood lords, move away next game. This is easier than using Orb, and I don't know how you can't do this.

no, i think he's dieing because of his gear, cause i can stand up to council (even though i just cast blizzard once on them and they die) and then go fight meph which takes about 2 blizzard with 4 iceblasts inbetween

and NOT maxed cold mastery, how the hell do you ahve it maxed?


As for moat thing (Im guessint river meph?) Its really easy

you stand by the portal, or well lined to it anyways, and you see in mh where council members are, if the ones in left side is close to you, go to right side a bit, and same for the other side... and cast away.

Or do pindle with merc, act 2 preferred with might aura.


And its not gear that he dies of, its lack of "skill" or where he is standing at, even with craps I had, I didnt die.

yeah, those resistances suck... if you have -80 res make sure you did all 3 anya quests for the scrolls, that raises it to -70 base... then I'd recommend getting a cheap rockstopper and an also cheap mosers shield and then socket it with 2 pdiamonds. That raises your resists into the positives, and then something like an occy can make you good to go. I was running botNET and I noticed that mainly only fire was hurting me... so if you are JUST having problems with hydras, feel free to use p-rubies... so you'll get twice the resist where you REALLY need it.

I think you could do with 80 strength and no dex, that would free up alot of vitality to keep you around longer for meph runs.

He maxed cold mastery instead of ice bolt.

Nice trick I discovered, might be fixed, but....
Get a sin, and a shadow, then go to get the scroll of resistence. You should get 2 one for you and one for the shadow. So if you do this for normal, nightmare, and hell thats 6 scrolls for ya.
