Warning: This guide has no alternative gear set-ups! The only optional items are the charms!
Do note: With enough +skills this build would actually heal double what the standard medic would heal, with the added bonus of reducing poison and curse duration by at least 87%.
With all that said, if you want a build where you, yourself, can actually solo enemies... You're looking in the wrong place.

Mercenary (prayer):
Gaze, socketed with shael,
Pride Giant Thresher (Level 20 aura, preferred),
Fortitude
Pride adds concentration [nice bonus to your party and the merc], gaze adds double leach and fortitude? Adds defense, frozen armour chance on struck, and more damage.
Prayer: 20
Cleansing: 20
Holy Bolt: 20
^ That's 60 skills. What to do with the other 40?
20 Foth,
20 blessed hammer,
Rest into Defiance (In case of emergency)
Everything goes into vitality. (Low req's all around )
This char will pump out thousands of damage vs undead, heal allies via three healing auras, and otherwise support with a level 20 concentration (In case there isn't a hammerdin [Yeah, right])
If you ever need to defend yourself it all depends on what type of monster you are up against.
Undead - Holy bolt
magic immune (that isn't demon or undead) - let your merc take care of it
Anything else - Hammer
Your merc will have your concentration aura (For the hammer damage) and you will hopefully pull through.
Enjoy,
BFH
