It's hard to populate servers in Counter-Strike. It would be easier, for me at least, to play and populate a CS:S server.

Best thing you can do is message all your steam friends and people on the forum to get them to join it. It will naturally fill up after you get 10+ people in it.

all i play is cs:s now. 1.6 guns are crap now to me. the spray is horrible in 1.6.

sadly,my video card can BARELY handle cs:S,so i get maybe 15-25 fps at all times,and i cant really play with that low of fps

P4 2.2ghz
9100 128mb
768 MB PC2100 RAM

And I average 40FPS and range from 30-90. Check the sticky in the CS Tech forum for FPS help.

Lies! CS:S isn't as bad as you may think. I've played many years in CS and have made CAL-Main so I don't really have a biased opinion, but I'm really enjoying CS:S. When you first get on it you can't help but complain about the differences in the two versions instead of playing the game like it is new.(I know it's a port, but everything doesn't have to be the same) After a while, took me two seasons of CAL or half a year, you start to enjoy it for what it is instead of complaining for what it isn't.

i play with 20-40 some times 50 nothing too bad if you are in a high ticket rate / low ping server..

More than likely not. Try making a good config, check the sticky in the TECH section, and also make sure you are running in DX8.1 instead of 9.0.

The 9100/9200 were built off DX 8.1 and not 9.0. It's mostly nothing different on that card.

alright,thanks,i installed source,but its gonna take about an hour to update,ill post here how muhc fps i get once its installed,and i messed with setting a bit.
