Blizzard has posted, interestingly 8 hours into the future at 2:00 a.m. tomorrow. (Reset your clock, guys!) Anyway, here is what they had to say to today's Realm outage:

Due to a catastrophic hardware failure, the Diablo II USEast realm
was unavailable for several hours. New hardware has been brought
online to resolve this issue. No further outages are expected.
So resume playing, and the overflow that was clogging the other Realms should be resolved as well, with the Easties back on their chosen Realm.

pindle is causing it........... and THOSE are banned ones.....

also, battle.net has like 2 backup servers and a few backup char files per char.. They just ran one on east like today and its working fine, so they are almost as hack-proof as EQ was
