Best way to start?

Lets say youre a newb, you just got the game and you are
playing on battle.net. You have no good items and you wonder how people get them. Do you:
Either live off free stuff games forever.
Make a char with bad items anways
Start a mf char
Please reply and stuff my friend needs help

get some free stuff. give the character some MF rings. (not hard to get) and just work your way from there...

and u can also collect 40 chips then trade for an soj. Thats what i did and after a while i had pretty good items.....and yes try to some mf gear and eventually u'll get lucky. When i began playing after a few weeks i began collecting 40 chips then after about 3 monthss with a little over a hundred mf i found an eagle and traded that for a stormshield

ya the easyest way to get soj is 40 chipped gem

realisticly tho, no one. anymore, will give you an soj for 40 chipped gems. And it is hard to get started, because without any good ites its hard to make a character powerful enough to find good items, i mean its ****en hard to make a char that can kill mephisto if you don't have any good items. I guess you could go for pindle tho

most ppl ask for 40 p gems nowadays. heh. i used to think that p gem meant poison gem. I'm glad I'm not THAT idiotic any more. Only slightly idiotic now.
