Err...tough question.
Do you mean under whose term did Americas economy prosper the most?
Or, who did we like the most?
Or...

Refine the question, the answers would be too vague without. =\

There have been many good presidents. Its kind of tough to just nominate one to be the best. I mean look at Washington and Lincoln, its hard to debate which was better.
F.D.R
Teddy Roosevelt
Lincoln
Washington
All these including others have been great presidents when their country needed them.

I have to agree with Steven22, though I might add Ronald Reagan as one of the greatest presidents. He did make some mistakes, but name one president who hasn't? It's easier to name the worst, though there might be some debate between the two I'd name.

Ulyseus S. Grant (Destroyed the South) and Andrew Jackson ("King" Andrew)

Yeah there are others, I just named some that came to mind. Reagan, J.F.K.
As long as we don't nominate people like Taft or Nixon, haha.

I don't think I'd put JFK on the "best" list. I might put him as average since I did like a few things, but...I didn't like quite a few things. Taft and Nixon are two pretty bad ones. My personal favorite President will always remain General George Wasthington. I liked Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, but not as much as GW.

I'm a fan of Teddy. Just imagine if it were him and his "rough riders" in office now. You might think we have too many wars now......... :)

I like Washington also. The fact that they wanted him to be the King of America and he declined it earns my respect.

Its a really tough question because we can't really know all the facts about the earlier presidents (i guess we really can't with new ones either) But i mean maybe someone of the early ones made really big mistakes that have been covered up thru time. Presidents now adays are looked at with so much more distrust then at one time, granted thats just my opinion

Franklin Deanor(sp?) Roosevelt is probably my favorite president. i favor him as best as well. Why? because he was a good people person. he brought the unemployment rate down by the new deal which was mainly opening new jobs such as work on new freeways. The freeway system itself might not be as it is now. FDR pushed for the support in ww2. he may have even known that the japanese would bomb pearl harbor. why do you think the most important thing the the navy, the carriers, were out that day? Anyways, with this he got into world war 2 and helped defeat the axis powers. But he also supported youth programs such as boyscouts, he worked with ww1 vetrens, and developed the economy.
