anyone know where they drop the most, or even if there is? I'm just wondering, because I'd like to make more and more spirit's.

So if you know where I can find them, plz post your reply of where I should search the most.

I dont think socket Quest work on stuff that is alredy socket...

i think minny meant to use the socket quest on a clean monarch with no sockets.....if you did this it would add max sockets which is 4.

1 Tal Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + Normal Shield = Socketed Shield of same type
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. For example, if you have an item that can only have 2 sockets, there's a 5/6 chance of getting 2 sockets and a 1/6 chance of getting 1 socket.

CM, I know the formula, and not always will it work, and I dont have time enough to make alot of p ruby's and find tal's and amns (or make).

You ALWAYS get max sockets possible in any normal/superior/damaged item. Magics vary, rares and uniques don't, they only get 1.

so i take a reg crystal sword and socket it, i will get 6 socket PB?

No, you will get the max number of sockets a crystal sword can get (I'm not sure, but I think it's 3). If you socket a PB you will get 6 sockets (assuming it isn't magic/rare/unique).

Hell cows drop such lovely socketed items.
