Best char to make?

so i'm thinking of playing diablo again...i'm not sure where i want to start tho? should i play ladder or non ladder, east or west...and what character should i use? any suggestions? i usually like amazons, paladins, and sorcs...but i'm just wondering which kinda char. it'll prolly be pvp more then pvm unless it's a sorc that i'd use to mf with. also what kinda char, like class wise...bow zon...hybrid...what? like i said, any suggestions would be appreciated...thank you.

well i aint sure wat char u should make most people normally make sorces for mfing but its all really wat u use best. also i dont c the point in non ladder its bascalyl teh same except u can get less items isnt it?

make a blizzard sorc first (i prefer blizzard over the other elements but if you dont like blizzard, make a lite sorc or orb sorc or maybe a fireball/meteor sorc [i usually dont like fire]). oh and dont go dual elements.
as for pvp, make a smiter because he's good for uber hunting and does very well in duels
hammerdin is VERY good for pvm (the best in my opinion) and does ok in duels

EDIT: and as for how to build your chars, just look in the stickies

From what I here, Hammerdins are the best for PvM, and are alright in PvP, but you won't be able to afford one right off the bat, so either make an mf sorc, or just a PvM, like what Induhvidual said.

yea i think once i get paid this week, i'm gonna go out and buy the diablo battlechest cuz i'm broke right now and lost all the cd's...so i'm gonna buy that, do all the installing and shit, and then just make a mf sorc so that i can mf and get some decent stuff...where's the best place to mf now? and are there any map hacks out? or what?...thanks again for the help guys

the best places to mf for a sorc (not considering element) are andy, meph, pindle, eldrich- all in hell or course

if you want the single best place to mf, i'd suggest hell meph- he's easy to kill and drops decent items occasionally (for me at least). then you can move on to the other mf areas and perhaps make a hammerdin and do hell baal etc etc.

as for maphack, i'd suggest you not use em unless you want to risk the possiblity of getting banned (which is very high since we now have warden to deal with)

warden? what is warden? i'm sorry guys i haven't played for a really long time, i barely played in the new patch, mainly in the 1.09...thanks for all the help and carbon when i start playing again i might take you up on that rush...thanks for the offer man
