Instead of choosing your class at the start of the game, why not just be a ''none'' class, and when you choose skills and use certain items in a specific way, it would eventually shape the class you become? For example, to be a necromancer, you could learn poison magic, learn how to re-create actual bone into a spiritual projectile, and practice reviving the dead. If you did enough of it, you would become a necromancer rather then choose him and just slap skills into him. I always wanted it to be like this.
