I read the diabloii.net updates I got this

Several readers have mailed to let us know that according to some of the D2 hacks sites, as of today all and bot and D2Hackit users are getting flagged by IP# and being booted with a "Realm Down" warning, and will be banned with repeated offenses. There's no official word about this yet, and there may not be one at all, given how infrequently Bliz chooses to communicate their Bnet policies/actions, but it's been reported by enough people that it seems to actually be happening. Whether this new anti-cheating feature is related to the general inability to stay in a game for more than 5 minutes without losing your connection is unknown, but apparently Blizzard is working on something.

Update: 1) Yes, everyone has been and is continuing to get disconnected, even if they've never used a bot at all. Hopefully Blizzard can get the realms stable enough for players to actually know if they're flagged or what. 2) We've heard from some people who have actually tested it, been flagged for using a bot and unable to reconnect for 20 minutes on that machine, while their other machine worked fine. 3) Stop asking us if maphack is a bot.

Is the 1.10 patch comeing out people that don't use bots are getting the same thing I use maphack but thats not a bot. so I don't get it someone tell me whats going on please. ty

:)

Just an update

The Bnet team has posted a short message on the status forum

The Battle.net Team is working to address Diablo II realm stability. Several issues have been addressed and new server software is being tested. Expect more specific information soon regarding these changes.
Nothing you didn't know already there, eh? Stay tuned for more details. Thanks to everyone who mailed us about this.

As for the flagging and banning, we've gotten dozens of mails from people who have never used any cheat at all and are getting constant realm down and disconnect problems. Don't worry about it, Bliz is obviously working out the kinks in their new monitoring scripts and realm stability should improve. *He said hopefully.*

you will no BELIEVE what happened to me this weekend! i heard that pindle accounts were being deleted and even though all the veterans said that that's not possible, i just wanted to play it safe.

all my mules were on my pindle account, so i created a new account to mule my stuff with no fear of being deleted. i got my sister to help me transfer in a private game (she just fooled around in the other acts while i dropped items on the floor and came back with my new mules)

i emptied FIVE dam mules onto the ground. the game was loaded with great items (all from pindle) and i started transferring the stuff to my new account.

after filling up TWO new mules, BOTH my sister and i were kicked out of the game!
all my godly items gone.... dam b.net.... =(

Bnet Updates

Patch 1.10 Reference - Gaile [13:37:pST]

Several readers of the Blizzard Insider newsletter have suggested we may wish to share this tidbit with you.

Q: What's up with the Diablo II patch?

A: We are currently in test on the patch and hope to have it out before the next issue of the Insider is released. We are making a LOT of changes to the game in terms of skills, monsters, items, random area generation and even Ladders, so even though we are working on a patch, it requires that we re-test the entire game with the expansion. We know it has been a long wait, but we really think that our Diablo community is going to be thrilled with everything they'll be getting.

Now, not to be cynical, but setting a deadline "before the next issue" is darn clever. Since the newsletter isn't published on a regular schedule, the next issue can simply be held as long as necessary. 3rd Quarter 2004, anyone? Just teasing. *evil grin* Cross your fingers -- looks like it may be soon. If you'd like to subscribe to the Blizzard Insider, we have a spiffy button over on Warcraftiii.net for your aid.

More updates when I get them
