I really really need to know all the basics, (No please don't explain the WE in great detail or anything like that) I just want to know what the key ingredients are to make a great Role Player Game. Along with some very basic skills I need to know to make a 64 by 64 map rpg, for starters. If anybody can please do that I can expand the knowledge I learn into more complex maps.

But all I need right now is everything a good rpg needs, and some basic triggers I should know about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gray Shades

Sorry

Sorry I should have specified and I see now that you will not guide me through everything. Can someone help me by creating a basic list of what and rpg needs. I will read the list and see if I can make it myself and will go on from there. (Any good triggerswould be much appreciated) So what I need now is a basic list that would go like:

-First Person Camera
-Character
-etc..

before you ask for help, it might be wise to kick up wc3 world editor and look at the triggers of an rpg you already have.(if not, look for another) thats how i learned how to make mods for wc3

First Person Cam is not possible i think ...

Chracter? u mean choose one? just make a trigger when a unit enters a region in front of the hero ... u can get the hero ... creat him.

U need many triggers, its about the quests u want to have, more diffcult maps = more triggers, its not easy to make a map with many trigger (my max was 200 triggers in a very small map ...) in a rpg u should learn how to use dialogs.

I learned them all by myself, sometimes i just look what i can do in the WE and sometimes i look in other maps... I NEVER asked anybody for a trigger, i just looked it up (thats why i have 1200custom maps...)
so now i can everything. do the same, look at other maps, and when u need a special trigger, ask in the forum, or try it yourself by testing what the WE can do .

First Person Cam is quite possible. Look at some of Darimus' maps, ion his shooter one he has it locked on first person camera.

Anyway, give us an idea of what you want, then we can help. You're being to general.

well everyone thought criticizing your broadness was a good idea but i think giving you some ideas will help even more
-its an rpg so it needs heros do custom ones with custom abilities get them off almost any arena map or dota ;)
-first person veiw would be nice but you can also do topdown locked
- no minimap that make it so you are less orientated so its harder to coordinate strikes
-varying degree of difficulty quests from many easy to a few hard where you have to work together
-custom items, i did a dungeon map where you could throw torches and they stayed lit but everyone could see what they lit up even your enemies and if you had them in your invintory you were also lit up
-creeps reapear
-training area for lvls not gold
-buy units and make a base so you can revive your hero
-minigames to relieve the tedium also a good chance to get gold every so often
-short short skipable cinematic in the begining
and thats enough to get you started and take a lesson from thebastrdsword i learned in a few weeks and after that i just refined myself
