Hello,

Right now I am downloading a program off KaZaA to play some videos with. It is rather a big file, and I need some help.
Ok..
Usually my KB Rate for D/Ling a file is about 5.00-9.50 KB/S.
But my connection speed is (yes I know, it sucks...) 64k.

Anyways, if I do not have any program AT ALL that connects, or had anything to do with connecting, or the internet, and KaZaA is the only one open, then why is my BandWidth rate 8.00 instead of using all the 64k's I have?

Is it possible to get it that high?

Thanks,
Minnesota

I have a 10/100 ethernet card. My downloads usually go at about 14kbps - 16kbps. For some reason, I think it was my cable company's doing, my internet was allowing me to download at speeds of up to 300kbps. I think they were just giving me a taste for a month in hopes I would purchase the full cable plan. Sneaky Bastards.

So in other words.. you have no control over it unless you have a good ethernet card?

You can only download as fast as someone can upload to you off of kazaa (this includes all users they are uploading to). So, if they have cable, and you have cable, the max file transfer rate will be the slower of the two (download speed & upload speed, upload is generally slower). The except I believe is ADSL which downloads and uploads at the same speed, as well as a few other things.
