Armor for pally?

can sum1 help me with wat armor i should use for my zeal pally. the pally is mostly going to be used in pvp. im wearing a coh now but im dinking about using a eth gladsbane for defence because i only have around 15k def wit coh on and i get hit very easily also im dinking about using a eth valor too but it requires a lot more strength to use so kinda don wanna wear dat. since im only going to use da eth armors in pvp only i don need to worry about durability. So... ne ideas on which armor i should wear? any other armor suggestions are welcome

I'd go with a +2 Valor. Those worked pretty well with my zealdin.

if your rich, go with eth carapace/levi. If your not so rich get a stone. I my current stone has 2.2k def on it

I agree. Pally's love + skills. And a Levi? How does that help a paladin at all? No skills +, a large STR + but by the time you get it STR wont help so much. I'd much rather have the boost of VIT from a Valor. Faster Hit Recovery on Valor. The DR% on a Levi is nice, but you could easily get that from SS+shako+Verdungos and woudln't need it. 30% FHR and + VIT insures you live longer. While + Str does not. Now you've been pwned.

If you wan't defence, get an Ethereal Exie Vortex Sjield. That with maxed Holy Shield will own some hardcore shit. Life Tap cast on the shield too. Very nice. + The shield gives Defiance Aura. Even more defence! For Defence though, go with Stone. If not, Stick with CoH.

would it be betta if i wore a eth gladsbane becuz it would save me from using a raven frost so i could use a angelics or a soj? i alredy got my stats redy wen i remake my pally wen i get all my runeword stuff for it. heres how i added it all up. dis is based off my equip


base 25 strength
+ 16 from anni = 41
+ 9 stat pnts = 50 (for dracs)
+14 from dracs = 64
+38 stat pnts = 102 (for andy visage)
+ 25 from andy's visage = 127
+ 30 from ebotd = 157 total stats

im not sure if its exactly all correct but im sure its pretty close

so basicly i added 47 stat pnts total for my pally to wear all equip
so my question is should i add a lil more strength to wear a eth valor or use a eth gladsbane so i don use a raven frost. im also kinda dinkin of putting a pul in da armor for more def so i don wanna use a cham

Valor is a must. Also you said yo have low def. use the synergy for the holy shield Defience really adds to the overall def. (If you dont have already)

my suggestions are:
stone, enigma, eth valor, eth carapace, duress, eth glad bane, uped shaft.

these are definite NO's:
coh (crap defense and u dont need resists if ur against melee, enuf said), any armor thats under 1.2k def (i find those unacceptable in every way... enigma's and duress' def are as low as it should get).

one more thing to remember: a high def must never be forced at the cost of other crucial stats. yes, eth exile will give u unmatched def (which still can be beaten by higher AR), but the blocking is crap, and even with holy shield ull need to spend more dex than u normally need, and that means less vita, less life. if u think the chance of casting life tap is so great, why not instead buy urself a life tap charge wand for 100% chance to cast it at the start of duel and save urself some runes.

unless u have other means of getting 50% DR, stick with SS. 20k def is what i consider to be decent.

This is crap, cuz ethereal "armor type" items are bugged, and if upgraded they lost the eth defensive bonus.


However, I misread the thread, I didn't read this pala was for PvP.

Enigma, Duress and Stone can be very good armors, but also eth Carapace is a good option. Duress / Stone are good 4 3 reasons:

1) They are very cheap
2) They have more than 1500 defense if made on very good armors
3) They can be made on low str req "superior" armors like Archon Plate or Dusk Shroud, thus making you save points into str.

It depends on your choices.

- If you want tons of defense, go for Stone or Eth Carapace (very high def ones are very costly).
- If you want nice defense and mods like Crushing Blow / Open Wounds (this one is marvellous for pvp), go for Duress.
- If you want to save lots of points in strength, use an Enigma Superior Dusk.
