so..idk if any of u remember me talking about it a while back..but im finally starting to build my arcade. i just bought the traditional arcade controller (www.x-arcade.com) and now i just hafta build the cabinet. ill post pictures of progress but theres one major thing i need- a list of games

games can range anywhere from nintendo to N64
but..i rather not have to resort to ISOs so dreamcast and Playstation are a no-go. im mainly looking for nintendo, arcade, sega, super nintendo, gameboy, gamegear etc, not too great of graphics stuff. if u can think of a fun old school game, post it up. thanks

Don't bother building the cabenit. Just buy one on ebay, they're relativly cheap.

You can get a full mame (10k+ games, and a lot of them are really recent and such too, like Teken 4, TTT, VF4(5?), and whatever other games they put out in arcades now a days) for around 1.5k. For everything. The Cabenit (jus tneed to asemble it, but that tkaes like 20 minutes), the hardware, the screen, the joysticks (dual). Whenver I fix up a room in my house to be my gaming room I'm definatly going to be getting one of these, as well as a full scale Galaga machine.

Or buy a cabinet, restore it, pay about 1000 dollars less and not look like a total douche.

Speaking of, my newest MAME project, is a 4 player control panel with built in computer. The theory is, you can plug directly into a TV and play, without the need for a full size cabinet. I'm still browsing around for a decent cabinet to restore as well. My last purchase was 4x HAPP Perfect 360 Joysticks. Top of the lineee.

i have an old computer and monitor for the computer. and the wood will only cost me about $14 a piece. then buy some plexi glass and assemble. i get the games for free, so the joystick was $96, wood will be around $50. much better than 1.5k

Unless you have some serious wood working skills, you'd be better off using an old cabinet.

you wouldn't need serious wood working skills to build a simple cabinet, if thats what your looking for...i bought some 8x4 foot long 3/4 in. pieces, and ripped them down with a table saw, then again not many carry a table saw in their garage...but you get the idea, its really not that difficult, and pretty cheap

I only mean trying to make both sides of the cabinet even. That's the only hard part. Especially with a circular saw.

no, ive got all the tools needed. my dads and electrician so he has everything i need and like every saw imaginable. and i love building things which is why i plan on building the cabinet myself. i also prefer to customize things at my whim instead of just buying a cabinet. i bought a fluorescent light from goodwill for $3 and am gunna buy plexi glass to put in front of and paint it etc

another big step ive been holding off on is the programming.
Someway i need it so when the computer starts, the folder of roms starts, and if possible, is well organized and looks good.
any1 have any idea? (im thinking right now the romcenter organizer will do) any other suggestions?

carpentry isnt that hard, i actually find it really fun, so long as you have the tools you could probably complete a custom designed cabnit in 1 day [the basic cabnit, no painting and whatnot]
