Another Noobish Question

I play solo.

I'm playing v1.07 with the expansion pack.

What is the advantage of upgrading to 1.11 and what's the best way to do it?

I do see that almost everone is playing that version and almost all of the tips and hints, runewords etc are keyed to it and not my creaky old version. ( Hey I got it when it first came out and sometimes I go months with no time to play. I have two jobs and a life, already)
