Go live in Marfa, fool. If I move to Texas this is where I will live. Or maybe El Paso if I want to live in a city.

omg. you saw animal collective. they're my favorite. i havn't seen them myself, but i did buy the new panda bear album person pitch. it's wierd because i have so many bands that i just like, but then there a few i absolutley love and the ones i love i never see live. well, i'm very jealous but also happy you have learned to love them as i did.

where the hell if marfa
It's about a three hour drive east from El Paso, couple hours north of Big Bend National Park, in between Alpine and Valentine if you know where they are. Alpine and Valentine are kind of small towns as well though. For a small town, Marfa is really blossoming. I expect more people will know where it is in coming years. There's a lot of art and culture kind of things developing here.

just searched for humble, tx... maaaaan...you're like, way on the other side of the state. Texas is a big ****in place man. It blows my mind when I'm flying from Dallas/FtWorth to El Paso and it takes two hours just to cross the state.

You should really go out of your way to see bands if you're interested in them. Most of my life I didn't really get into bands enough to go see them live, but in the past couple years I have and it's really been one of the best decisions I've made.

yeah, i do go to the occasional show, for instance i'm going to see you say party, we say die june 6 at a local club. otherwise i usually enjoy live music at big festivals.

i saw fiery furnaces, broken social scene, new pornographers, controller.controller, metric :)tinfoil3:), feist, belle orchestre, and malajube at the ottawa blues fest last summer. that lasted me for most of the fall.

Now I'm jealous... :(

I was supposed to go see Fiery Furnaces when they played in Philly but it rained so hard the roads flooded and we couldn't get to the show. I'd really love to see New Pornographers as well. The other bands are sort of ... well, I'd probably go to any show even if I hated the band (provided the cover/ticket was cheap enough) but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to see them. I'm about really high energy shows (and animal collective TOTALLY DELIVERED btw). I don't think someone like BSS would be able to get me to move around enough.

That's the only thing that pissed me off about animal collective. I was bouncing off the ****ing walls and everyone else in the audience was like the stereotypical indie prick: they all just stood around with their arms crossed, making fun of the opening act and snapping pictures on their cell phones while looking bored.

haha yeah, damn those indie kids. if you don't dance at an animal collective concert, you need help. :whoo:

ps. bss is VERY good for dancing to. you might not think of it when you listen to there albums, but it was as wild as most of the other bands i saw :wavey:

pss. i got my fiery furnaces shirt signed by the friedburgers :p

they have a new album coming out this summer. try listening to panda bear, he's a member of animal collective.

download the whole album is my recommendation, it's called person pitch.

edit: grass get's worn out pretty fast, listen to the whole album (feels?) to make it last longer. also check out sung tongs, it's most similar to feels more than the others. if i had to rank on a scale of psychadellicness...

feels-3
sungtongs-2
spirit they're gone, spirit they've vanished/danse manatee- 6
here comes the indian-9

...so it took me five like six-seven posts before I figured out this wasn't about some utopian communist society comprised of animals :(

That's what the original post was about, but everyone else started talking about the band. :(
