I love Jazz, though I rarely listen to it. My father plays a trumpet and he played it and listened to it constantly in the car, so I kind of inherited it. Next semester I'm going to be taking a jazz/show dance class. We learn steps, rhythms and it's history...
Laura Fygi's got one of the best jazz voices. But I love some of Natalie Cole's stuff. And of course, Chicago tops the list, for now, in terms of favourite broadway jazz.
One of the reasons why I love it? You could practically ballroom dance to most of the songs in this genre without any problem. Maybe not the too cheesy ones though, they tend to be foxtrot and I'm not a fan of foxtrot...normally in terms of dancing to the foxtrot. They've got some really awesome music for quickstep though.
