Is there any way to align units in the direction you want them to be, instead of (in this instance) two siege tanks that point the same way?

And another question...
How can I control which players get which colours and their starting positions? I'm using the editors X-Tra and SCMDraft. I have only been able to test my map offline so far, and the colours are and starting positions are random there. Will the colours be the same as in the editor if I play the map online?

I'm new to the forum and I've read the Sticky, but feel free to say so if this was a dumb question :p

1st Question:I'm not sure, but I think you can just place them there and hope that they go the same way, I know there is a way to do it, I just don't know how.

2nd Question:All you have to do is go to Forces, then un-check random start locations.

Oh, I didn't understand your question, sorry, I know there is a way to do it, maybe if you tried two different colors, like one yellow tank is pointed one way, then the white tank is pointing the other way, I don't know, but did my answer to your second question work?

Yeah, no problem, about your other question, By the way, what kind of map are making? And I'm still not sure how to make them go different ways, but I'll keep working on it. :)

Resident Evil sort of, may be with some RPG elements. I was inspired by the Raccoon City maps by Panzer_Kavalier, but I don't know if you've played those :)

Ok, new question :)

I have zombies (zealots) all over the map and the junk yard dog script seemed perfect to make the players randomly encounter them cuz they both run around on the map. It actually does work perfectly, but the zealots don't attack unless the players are right next to them. Those other 2 scripts (to make all the units randomly attack on suicide mission and to go on strategic suicide missions) aren't a good choice either cuz that makes all the zombies swarm unto the players, and I don't want them to do that yet.. So.. What can I do to get both advantages?

For the Siege Mode Siege Tank, create a "enemy" unit around them, close enough for them to attack it. Create the enemy unit and then quickly remove the unit. Creating the enemy unit will trigger the tank to face in that direction of the unit and get ready to attack and obliterate the enemy unit. I don't know if this works, just a thought from the mind...

Keep in mind, AI Scripts can only be used on computer players.

Yeah that should work, I thought he was talking about like haveing a ghost always face right or something. Thats slightly more difficult.

Most terran ground units that can attack will shift their direction every.. 15 seconds or so. Like Virus said, a tank doesnt shift its position randomly.

This goes for the goliath and most machine units.

On the Junkyard Dog AI problem.. this AI Script constantly tells the units to move around. So, say an enemy unit (zombie) see's an enemy human player; it would proceed to attack the player, but this would instantly be eradicated because Junkyard Dog will tell the computer unit to move somewhere else. Unless the human player's unit is close enough to touch the enemy unit, the enemy unit will keep following the commands of the AI Script.

I think. Bolt, verify this, you map making beast.

I found a solution. I use a big and a small location that follow my hero around. When a zombie enters the big location, they are issued an order to attack to the small location. Then preserve trigger obviously. You can still periodically see the zombies sort of twitching cuz they are issued an order by the junk yard script and then proceding to attack the player again. Barely noticable tho :p
