When I opened up some of the maps I had dl'ed to look at them, some of them had AI scripts I couldn't use, like turn on allied vision. How do I get all the AI scripts? Also, is there a way to order a computer unit to hold position?

To get all the AI scripts, download StarCraft Xtra Editor. And i don't think there is an AI script that allows you to set a unit on 'Hold', bu you can set up triggers so that it doesn't leave the area. I imagine the triggers wud look something like this:

Condition:
Always

Action:
Move all 'unit' at 'Don't move' to 'Don't move'
Preserve trigger.

Yeah, any editor besides the normal one will give you all those other AI scripts. There's an AI script editor out there somewhere that you might be able to use to make a "hold position" script for comps.

You get the 109 when you go online to play StarCraft.
You have to have it as an update of sorts to get in.

Modes?

It depends on your needs.

I start with the standard SC Editor, until I need a special AI, or to swap units from 1 race to another.

The rest depends on what type of placements you plan to do, the more intricate, the higher the number.

Think of #1 as the basic Pinto hatchback with a better sound system then what the factory offers, working your way up to #5, the Cadilac Coupe DeVille.
